Summer Programs

Las Positas College Biotechnology Bootcamp

Goal: Providing high school students with hands-on science activities, face time with scientists, exposure to potential careers, and a glimpse of community college life can have a lasting, positive impact.


Session 1 (Essentials of Biotechnology)

  • July 9 – 12, 9AM – 3PM
  • For students entering 10th or 11th grade with no prior experience


Session 2 (Advanced Biotechnology)

  • July 16 – 19, 9AM – 3PM
  • Students with at least 1 year experience in biotech program
  • Any biotech bootcamp alumni


Both sessions are held on the Las Positas College campus and the admission cost is $100 per student (need-based scholarships available).

BYU Design Week June 18-23, 2018

Do you love to draw and create?  Thrive on seeing the world in new ways?

This exciting, one-week overnight camp is for youth ages 15 to 18 who love to creating and being around other creatives too.  This year we are makings some exciting changes, combining all three design tracks into one amazing experience for everyone, with a blend of illustration, graphic design, and photography.

Livermore Teen Academy - Deadline to Apply: MARCH 16, 2018 (Extended!)

The Livermore Public Library, along with the City of Livermore, is offering an opportunity for local teens with the third annual Livermore Teen Academy. The Livermore Teen Academy (Academy) is a three-week summer program that includes a series of interactive workshops and a short internship with the City of Livermore. The Academy will also include an internship totaling 24-hours with a Livermore City department. Internships will be assigned, taking into account the interests and skills of the participants. Those who successfully complete the Academy, including the internship and all workshop sessions, will receive a $330 stipend. 


The Academy will run from June 11 through June 29, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. 


To be eligible, participants will need to be Livermore residents and students entering their Junior or Senior year of High School in the Fall of 2018. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older by the start of the program (June 11, 2018). The Livermore Public Library will now be accepting applications until Friday, March 16, 2018. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in an interview process. Based on the interview results, fifteen teens will be selected to participate in the Academy. Participants from previous years are not eligible.

2018 Summer Science Internship - Application Deadline: February 24, 2018

Applications for the 2018 Summer Science Internship are being accepted.


About the Summer Science Internship:


In the 27 years since its existence, the Arthritis Foundation's Summer Science Program has provided more than 200 students the opportunity to experience real life science in some of the most prestigious laboratories in the world.  Students are placed with scientists at Stanford and UC San Francisco.


Students assist with experiments, gather data, and work with a wide variety of scientists, medical doctors, and technicians.  Through this work, students gain exposure to the exciting field of research, specifically arthritis research.  Immunology and biologic therapies are a sampling of the research areas in which the students work with their mentors.

Bank of America Foundation Student Leaders Program - Deadline: February 2, 2018

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s Student Leaders® Program is officially accepting applications for its 2018 Student Leaders® program.


Participation in this program will help students develop their leadership and career skills and to connect with like-minded students. The purpose of Bank of America Student Leaders Program is to recognize exemplary high school juniors and seniors who have a passion for improving their communities.


The program helps students gain a greater understanding of how nonprofits create impact in the community and helps develop them as the next generation of community leaders through two components:

  •         A summer eight-week paid internship with a nonprofit organization selected by the bank
  •         The week-long, all-expense paid Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C. from July 8-13, 2018

FIDM Immersive Summer Program - 3 Days of Fashion
